Zedler-Institut starts WIN-Charta process

For bicycle tester Zedler – Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit GmbH sustainability has been part of the corporate culture as well as the basis for economic development for nearly 10 years already. By signing the WIN-Charta certificate founder and principal Dirk Zedler manifested the further commitment of the company to sustainable management.

With his signing the WIN-Charta, i.e. the only sustainability management system in Baden-Wuerttemberg especially for small and medium-sized companies to date, and with the signature of the WIN-Charta certificate by Baden-Wuerttemberg’s Minister of the Environment, Franz Untersteller, Zedler-Institut published their target concept on the WIN-Charta website where it can be checked by all interested parties, employees, business partners, friends, customers and suppliers.

“In participating in the WIN-Charta process we have the opportunity to make transparent and verifiable the sustainable management in our company structures and the social responsibility that we have assumed for many years now”, explains Dirk Zedler.

The focusses of Zedler-Institut are laid in particular to sustainable resource management, the benefits for the region and incentives to think in new ways. The WIN-Charta target concept which is characterized by a good practicability, high transparency and the particular approach of increasing local sustainability also includes nine additional guiding principles. These are related to the topics human rights, resources, product responsibility, sustainable and fair financial decisions, anti-corruption and benefits for the region. By signing the certificate Zedler-Institut is also committed to these topics.

The target concept also comprises a WIN! project promoting sustainability in the direct business environment. “The project supported by Zedler-Institut consists in our social commitment to young people which has a multi-year tradition already”, reads the statement from Ludwigsburg. It includes for example a bicycle workshop for three local schools also open to the work group asylum which was set up by Zedler and receives professional support from them. Part of the project is also an increased opening of Zedler-Institut for schools which do not only benefit from the new training and seminar area with integrated bicycle museum, but also from the guided tours through the show test lab and the workshop. The set targets of the target concept are verified in annual reports that are also published.
