Die häufigsten Sicherheitsrisiken, die uns in der täglichen Arbeit rund um Fahrrad-Sicherheit, -Technik und -Bedienungsanleitungen auffallen, publizieren wir auch in Artikeln in den führenden Fachmagazinen TOUR – Europas Rennrad-Magazin Nr. 1, BIKE – Das Mountainbike Magazin Europas Nr. 1 und E-Bike – Das Pedelec-Magazin, um diese für die Branche wichtigen Informationen einer größeren Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.

Test institute Zedler expands testing facilities on their premises

About half a year ago the impressive new company building of Zedler-Institut opened officially (...). But the wheel keeps on turning; that of owner Dirk Zedler, as well, who continues to invest in his test institute and his equipment. Most recent example: a third test lab that was put into operation recently.

The testing systems of the category safety, for ex. the new pedal and bell testing systems as well as a roller type test stand for wheels, are located in the new lab. In this lab the high internal standards of the test institute were also implemented just like in the already existing test labs. According to Zedler, these are namely constant climatic conditions, high load carrying capacity and vibration reduction of the floor as well as bright radiant LED illumination for crack detection.

The new testing systems were also developed in-house and Zedler states that their range of functions would cover of course the relevant standards. They would also offer the possibility to perform tests according to the intended purpose of use that may go far beyond the tests specified in the standards. According to Zedler, experience had shown that often enough the natures of loss which are known from thousands of analysed failures on the road or in the terrain could only be reproduced with supplementary test procedures.
