Building awarded twice
The Zedler company built their new company building that was inaugurated in 2019 as energy-efficient building in accordance with the energy-efficiency standard “KfW” 55”. As previously reported, the German Sustainable Building Council awarded Zedler for that the Platinum Certification “Building in Operation”. In addition, the German Sustainable Building Council gave the “climate-positive” award. In addition to energy efficiency, the company focused on generating their electricity from renewable sources. A photovoltaic system therefore covers 47 per cent of their electricity requirements. Recycled materials were used in the construction. 50 measuring points monitor the building and the operational procedures. The heat from the process waste heat of the air compressors is recovered and supplemented by heat pumps. Rainwater is used for toilets or bicycle cleaning, for example.
