All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Award for the Environment Baden-Wuerttemberg 2014: Certificate for Zedler institute as finalist

Zedler – Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit was handed over a certificate in the "Business Award for the Environment Baden-Wuerttemberg 2014" in the category trade and services. This is to honour the particularly ecological and climate-friendly business management of the Ludwigsburg company.

All in all 19 finalists in four categories were honoured personally for their commitment to environmental protection on the occasion of the award ceremony beginning December at Neues Schloss Stuttgart.

"We are proud that our commitment to sustainability was recognized officially today and will hopefully find many imitators and supporters", emphasizes Dirk Zedler. "Our business activity of testing and optimizing bicycles, electric bicycles and components is in itself already environmentally friendly. Our aim is to continue making bicycle traffic safer and to hereby create the basis for a future-oriented mobility. We equally try to reduce the energy and raw material consumption as far as possible in our daily business activities."

According to the company’s own information, the Zedler institute with its 18 staff members had for example a heat recovery system as well as a developed infrastructure for cyclists (company bicycles and pedelecs, changing and showering facilities, repair and parking places). Commuting to work and business trips were mainly made by bicycle and by train, the correspondence was mostly paperless (electronically). The exclusive usage of recycling paper and electricity from hydropower are further points. Furthermore, they reduce waste material to a minimum and, where it cannot be avoided, place special importance on sorting for recycling. The cooperation with local suppliers is a preferred option.

The Zedler institute participated reportedly in the DHL project "Gogreen" and upon request user manuals were printed on FSC-certified paper. "We hope that the good publicity of the award for the environment will help to show other companies that the protection of the environment is not only feasible, but also economically profitable to make sustainability a matter of course in future companies", says Dirk Zedler.
