From numerous applications and nominations an expert jury elected ten award winners. Among them Dirk Zedler, founder of Zedler – Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit GmbH.
Furthermore, every citizen has currently the opportunity of choosing his or her three favourites online at www.neue-mobilitaet-bw.de on the basis of exciting short films (the photo is from the short film about Dirk Zedler) and of electing his or her three personal public heroes from the all in all ten award winners.
"The fact that I was elected 'hero' is for me a clear signal that not only the jury, but also the Baden-Wurttemberg Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure take notice of the bicycle and the pedelec as equal means of transport", says Dirk Zedler happily.
On the basis of more than 20 years of successful activity as bicycle experts the Zedler company located in Ludwigsburg develops user manuals for bicycles of any type and bicycle components. The user manuals are regularly awarded test winner, e.g. by the German foundation for comparative product testing (Stiftung Warentest).
According to a press release, "Customers in Germany, the European countries and even Canada and China appreciate the outstanding quality of Zedler user manuals that are meanwhile available in more than 30 languages".
In another business division, the engineers around bicycle expert and managing director Dirk Zedler develop and build testing systems for the measurement of riding characteristics, for the determination of impact and overload behaviour as well as for fatigue tests of bicycle frames and bicycle components. Testing systems from Ludwigsburg are a valuable assistance for new developments to international and national manufacturers.
Moreover, by supplying the equipment for the leading European special-interest magazines Zedler GmbH has set the standards for the sector. This is the basis on which the European and US American brand manufacturers communicate with their suppliers in Asia. In the company-own test laboratory quality, stiffness and service strength tests are carried out for customers from all over the world".
