All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. Tödliches Karbon

Leserbrief: beidseitiger Bruch eines Karbon-Gabelschaftes 

Am 18. September 2004 verunglückte mein Sohn, der versierte Radfahrer Michael S. (46) im Landkreis Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen mit einem Rennrad ...Bj. 2004 sehr schwer. Der Unfall führte am 19. September 2004 zum Tode meines Sohnes.
Ursache des Unfalls war der beidseitige Bruch des Karbon-Gabelschaftes zirka 10 Zentimeter unterhalb des Gabelkopfes. Dem Unfall vorausgegangen war ein Brems- und Ausweichmanöver innerhalb einer Ortschaft. Ein Aufprall auf irgendein Hindernis fand nachweislich nicht statt.

Vermutlich wäre mein Sohn noch am Leben, wenn er die Veröffentlichungen in der Zeitschrift RadMarkt von Herrn Diplom-Ingenieur Zedler über die Gefährlichkeit von Karbonbauteilen im Fahrradbau gelesen hätte. Die wichtigste Aussage von Herrn Zedler: "Karbon verbiegt sich nicht, Karbon bricht!" Inzwischen ermittelt die Staatsanwaltschaft. Mein Sohn wird nicht wieder lebendig, andere Radfahrer sollen jedoch durch diesen Leserbrief vor dem unkritischen Einsatz von Karbongabeln gewarnt werden.
