All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. Pedelectest beim NDR: alle drei gefährlich!

Das NDR-Magazin Markt vom 26. Juni hat mit dem Zedler-Institut drei Elektroräder getestet. Dirk Zedler stellte bei allen drei Rädern schwere Mängel fest.

Getestet wurden das Mifa Alu Elektro Pedelec für 674 Euro von einem Online-Händler, das Zündapp Greene 2.0 Alu-City E-Bike von Real für 868 Euro und das Fischer City EcoLine von Conrad für 999 Euro. Dirk Zedler, Sachverständiger für Fahrradtechnik, prüfte unter anderem die Einfachheit der Montage, die Bremskraft und die Stabilität des Rahmens.

Bei allen drei Modellen stellte Zedler schwere Sicherheitsmängel fest. So drehte sich ein Lenker im Gabelschaft, ein Bremszug war locker, eine andere Bremse schlicht zu schwach. Auch die Motorleistung war laut Zedler bei einem Modell zu schwach, bei anderen Modellen schob der Motor dagegen zu lange nach, obwohl der Fahrer nicht mehr pedalierte. Bei einem Modell fehlte die Abschaltvorrichtung für den Motor beim Zug des Bremshebels. Als Lösung empfehle Zedler, so der NDR, Pedelecs ab 2000 Euro aus dem Fachhandel, weil diese sicherer seien.
