Joerg Schmidt, the chairman of the Association of German Companies for Climate Protection, pointed out: “The admittance of six more companies into our network underlines the fact that more and more companies are embarking on climate neutrality. The companies have recognised that their commitment to climate protection pays off. And in addition, the commitment to the environment and climate turns out to be a real competitive advantage.”
The Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs, The Federal Ministry for the Environment, and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) have been awarding companies as Companies for Climate Protection since 2009, thereby honouring their ambitious climate protection goals as well as their efforts in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies.
The companies are part of the association of 51 companies for climate protection and authorised to use the award for advertising purposes. The selection procedure took place under strict criteria.
