All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

Velophil - Blick in die moderne Fahrradproduktion

Das Wissensmagazin Galileo (ProSieben) hat gestern einen interessanten Beitrag über die Fahrradproduktion in Deutschland und China gezeigt.

Dabei wird deutlich: Auch Räder mit deutschem Namenszug werden aus Teilen gefertigt, die größtenteils aus Fernost stammen. In Deutschland werden sie dann lackiert, montiert und endausgestattet.

Die chinesischen Fabriken produzieren komplette Räder in erster Linie für Japan und Amerika. Seit Europa den Antidumpingzoll eingeführt hat, lohnt sich laut Galileo der Import von kompletten Rädern nicht mehr. Denn die EU erhebt 48,5 Prozent Zoll auf jedes Rad.

Eindrucksvoll ist der Test im Prüflabor des Fahrradsachverständigen Dirk Zedler zum Ende des Beitrags. Der Experte testet zwei Räder, die die Journalisten mitgebracht haben: eines vom Fachhändler, für fast 600 Euro, und eine Internet-Bestellung zur Selbstmontage, für annähernd 200 Euro. Der Test des Fahrrads aus dem Netz fällt ernüchternd aus: Selbst der Experte hat Probleme beim Zusammenbauen. Die Schaltung ist falsch eingestellt und die Montageanleitung teilweise falsch bebildert. Das Rad vom Fachhändler zeigt dagegen keine Mängel.
