The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

Bremsprobleme sind nicht gelöst

Interview zu Carbonlaufrädern

TOUR: Top-Laufräder mit Carbonfelgen sind mindestens 300 Gramm leichter als solche mit Alufelgen. Wird das Material sich hier genauso durchsetzen wie bei den Rahmen?

ZEDLER: Nein - solange die Bremsprobleme nicht gelöst sind. Die Bremseigenschaften sind schlechter als bei Aluminium, und ich sehe als Gutachter in der Saison wöchentlich einen Satz kaputtgebremster Carbonlaufräder.

TOUR: Können aerodynamisch verkleidete Alufelgen oder Carbonfelgen mit Alu-Bremsfläche das besser?

ZEDLER: Nach unseren bisherigen Erfahrungen ja. Die Frage ist dann, ob das Gewicht noch so günstig ist.

TOUR: Wo könnte die Lösung liegen?

ZEDLER: Ich hoffe, dass bald Scheibenbremsen fürs Renn- und Crossrad entwickelt werden. An sehr sportlich eingesetzten Rädern ist das die Bremsanlage der Wahl.
