All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

In our daily work as we deal with bicycle safety, technology and user manuals we come across lots of safety risks. The most frequent ones are published in articles of the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR – Europas Rennrad-Magazin Nr. 1, BIKE – Das Mountainbike Magazin Europas Nr. 1 and E-Bike – Das Pedelec-Magazin to make this information important for the sector accessible to a wider public.

For many years now the Eurobike Show Daily accompanying the annual international Eurobike Show has given us the opportunity to publish our perspective on major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent lectures about all topics relating to bicycle technology and bicycle market. In addition, we are regularly cited by further special-interest magazines or trade journals as well as more and more by radio and television and in their media reports, which shows us that we are completely right with our information. The section NEWS informs you about the latest news from our specialist fields. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to topics of interest.

CCI responds to e-bike boom

Dirk Zedler appointed expert for electric bicycles

More and more e-bikes crowd Germany’s roads, i.e. two millions currently. And this number grows by several one hundred thousands of new models every year. Reason enough for the CCI Stuttgart to publicly appoint and swear in Dirk Zedler already long recognized as expert in the cycle industry as one of the first experts for electric bicycles in Germany. This is commented by Dr. Gunther Schaefer, CCI Stuttgart region, as follows:

"With the appointment of Mr Zedler as expert for electric bicycles we meet the development in road traffic and the demand in experts for this field. From our point of view this was a logical step in view of the e-bike boom. These bicycles require a particular expertise to be able to precisely assess their operational safety and damage."

Nearly 20 years after his public appointment and swearing in as one of the first bicycle experts, this is for Dirk Zedler a further step in direction of professionalization of the cycle sector. "I am happy that we could convince the CCI of the necessity of this public appointment and their examination committee from our specific knowledge. Our competent expert’s reports for insurers, courts as well as for manufacturers and private individuals will help raising the level of the courts’ and insurers’ work on an adequate level. And this is absolutely necessary taking account of the fast development of the e-bike sector."
