All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Cycle Union surprised at inconsistencies at product test

Rated "Good" among the five best models at the latest e-bike test of the German foundation for comparative product testing (Stiftung Warentest): The managers of the Kreidler brand could actually lean back in a completely relaxed manner. If there were not this one hair in the soup in form of an according to the product testers "harmless, fine crack" in the seat post. The Kreidler manufacturers Cycle Union are questionning now whether the test was carried out appropriately. All the more, as the crack did not occur at the seat post, but at a completely different component.

The fact that the Kreidler manufacturer Cycle Union present themselves highly sensitive in terms of Stiftung Warentest is not least a consequence of the frequent disputes with the Berlin consumer protectors; or rather of the roller coaster ride the Oldenburg bicycle manufacturers have experienced in this respect: E-bike test winners made by Kreidler were followed by devastating test results - and vice versa. It was not least due to these experiences that Cycle Union have expanded and tightened their internal and external quality assurance measures significantly in the past years. The crack in the saddle clamp bolt, erroneously described as crack in the seat post by the "test" magazine of the product testers, is therefore incomprehensible for the bicycle manufacturer. Read the original wording of the Cycle Union comment in the following (translation):

Even a second, additional test at Zedler – Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit had a positive result. For this reason the devaluation in the current test results of Stiftung Warentest was not at all comprehensible to Cycle Union.
