All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Ground breaking ceremony for the new company building of Zedler-Group

After constant growth in the past years, Zedler-Group has set the course for the future. Flanked by Ludwigsburg’s city manager for construction Michael Ilk, the Deputy Chairman of Volksbank Ludwigsburg, Thomas Küster, the architect Harld Jahnke from Kelzenberg + Jahnke as well as building contractor Matthias Schüle, the start of the construction of a new three-storey company building was initiated together with managing director Dirk Zedler. (...)

During the ground breaking ceremony Michael Ilk stated that the city of Ludwigsburg was about to become a bicycle city and in this respect the new company headquarters with museum of Zedler-Group would be a vital component to improve the acceptance of the bicycle future in Ludwigsburg. Architect Jahnke described the project as follows: The quantum leap from the current status with angled offices and laboratories for few staff members to a highly efficient and dynamic building designed to serve all business branches in a perfect way, will provide more space for technology and efficiency to the customers and staff members of the Zedler institute.

The staff members and Dirk Zedler who had accompanied the major planning over the past months were happy about these words. “Without any doubt we’ve come to our borders in terms of space and logistics in our present company building. The construction of the new building is therefore a logical step for us which will enable us to provide a consistently high level of service to our customers in future as well.”

1300 sqm of space

The new construction of the efficiency house planned exclusively from concrete, steel, wood and glass will have three storeys and is to reflect the corporate philosophy established for many years. The working groups of the experts, the technical documentation and the testing technology are to benefit from transparent and bright, technically state-of-the-art and sustainable conditions in the new building with all in all 1300 sqm of space from the late spring 2017 on.
The building’s energy concept is not only based on the insulation measures which are already standard in these days, but also on the usage and storage of waste heat of the compressors. Together with an intelligent daylight management system, a solar plant for service water and a photovoltaic system to generate electricity, the building will be nearly autonomous.
The location is only about 100 metres away from the current headquarters which will ensure a frictionless continuation of operations during the phase of moving.

New training centre

The new company building will not only provide much more space to the test laboratory which had experienced a significant growth in the past. The training facilities will be enlarged significantly, as well. In addition, the extensive collection of historical bicycles collected by the Ludwigsburg bicycle enthousiast Helge Schultz together with company founder Dirk Zedler will find their place in the new building.

The training centre in Ludwigsburg will open in autumn 2017.
