All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Zedler-institute sweeps the board

Bicycle companies prove as bicycle friendly employer

In the past year component supplier Rohloff could secure the award "Most bicycle friendly employer in Germany". And also this year, companies from the bicycle sector were ranking high in the competition of the German Environmental Management Association (B.A.U.M. e.V.).

In particular, the Zedler-Institute was happy to receive two prizes at a time: On the one hand 1st place in the regional competition Baden-Wuerttemberg, on the other hand Dirk Zedler could receive another winner’s certificate for the 2nd place in the federal competition from the hands of Winfried Hermann, Minister for Transport and Infrastructure of the state Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The competition organised for the second time by the German Environmental Management Association (B.A.U.M. e.V.) and led by the board member Dieter Bruebach is promoted by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Buildings and Urban Affairs and on state level by the state Baden-Wuerttemberg. It is addressed to employers who provide particular support to employees using the bicycle as a means of transport. The infrastructure necessary for this purpose must be made available by the employer and the mobility with low CO2-emissions must be anchored in the company philosophy.

Zedler – Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit GmbH was awarded in the category of "5 to 49 employees". During the celebratory award ceremony at the Technoseum in Mannheim, it was pointed out by jury member Albert Herresthal, chairman of VSF, in his laudatory speech that it was in particular the distribution of the cycle virus promoted by the management infecting not only many of the employees, but also parts of their families and beyond that convinced the jury.

Zedler – Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit GmbH secured their success during the evaluation on national as well as state level due to the examplary infrastructure in the company building in Ludwigsburg. The company offers covered and illuminated bicycle stands directly in the entrance area, a changing room with lockers and shower facilities, a drying room as well as the possibility to service own or company bicycles under professional guide and to make repairs. In addition, the common kitchen offers free drinks, such as apple juice, from local meadows for thirsty cyclists. Furthermore, there are company bicycles for short business trips and the possibility of purchasing at reduced prices. All this could convince the jury, just like the motivation to commute to work by bike which is actively practised by the company management.

From the point of view of the sector, it is a pleasure to see that with Paul Lange oHG (2nd place in category "50 to 499 employers") and Tune Fahl e.K. (3rd place in category "5 to 49 employers") two further bicycle companies were happy to receive prices on state level.
