All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Enthusiasm for the product bicycle at the Parliamentary Evening of the vivavelo conference

As the joint voice of the bicycle industry, the German bicycle associations ZIV, Zukunft Fahrrad and VSF invited representatives from politics and the bicycle industry to a Parliamentary Evening at the North Rhine-Westphalian State Representation in Berlin yesterday evening. In keeping with the motto of the evening, “Making Progressive Mobility Simple,” Dr Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, also emphasised the central importance of the bicycle for the change in mobility.

Bicycles are more present in the media and politically than ever before, not least because there have been numerous trends in recent years that have made cycling even more attractive: The electrification of cycling, cargo bikes for a wide variety of purposes or job bike leasing make cycling the number one progressive mobility. This was also an aspect that was pointed out by Uwe Woell, Managing Director of VSF, in his opening speech and he invited everyone to use the joint evening as inspiration and change of perspective. The exhibition around the event, which presented innovative bicycles, bicycle products and components from all fields, also contributed to this.

In his opening speech, Dr Volker Wissing praised the bicycle as the means of transport of the future. “Everywhere we are looking for and researching for the mobility solution. It should be efficient, climate-friendly, affordable, clean, independent of fossil fuels and, if possible, also convey a feeling of freedom. That sounds like a dream. But it is already existing. The bicycle combines almost all the aspects I only just mentioned.”

Dirk Zedler, the Deputy Chairman of the bicycle association Zukunft Fahrrad, calls for the systematic and sustainable promotion of bicycle use in the mobility mix: “Our sector is growing and offers climate-friendly transport solutions in addition to the great innovation potential. The e-bike as prime example expands the everyday suitability of the bicycle enormously. The driver of the e-bike boom and the bicycle industry as a whole is job bike leasing. Half of all DAX companies already offer bicycle leasing, and the trend is rising. This offer finally needs to be stabilized by the legislator with an independent regulation in the Income Tax Act.”
