All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Zedler institute wins Medium-Sized Company Award for Social Responsibility

The Ministry of Finance and Economy in Baden-Wuerttemberg and the catholic welfare organisation Caritas honoured the Ludwigsburg company for its voluntary social commitment with the Medium-Sized Company Award for Social Responsibility in Baden-Wuerttemberg 2014. The Medium-Sized Company Award LEA stands for performance – commitment – appreciation and honours projects and company commitment going beyond the actual business activity.

For special care teenagers from a disadvantaged social background Zedler – Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit GmbH furnished a bicycle workshop with equipment, tools and teaching material at their own costs at Uhlandschule in Marbach. Once a week Bernd Romhard, one of the master mechanics cycle craft from the Zedler team, gives practical insights in promising technologies. During the award ceremony this sustainable project was praised as "lighthouse project" by laudatory Sarah Pawlowski from the German Federation of Trade Unions (DGB), region Baden-Wuerttemberg.

With this education partnership comprising three different school types (including a school for children with special needs) which is unique according to the CCI, the service company of the bicycle sector rounds off their multiple welfare activities. Reason enough for the jury to award the yellow-black lion, i.e. Baden-Wuerttemberg’s heraldic animal, to the Zedler institute winner of the 258 applications received in the category staff of 20 and less.

Managing director Dirk Zedler is happy about the renowned award: “There were so many fantastic projects among the nominees. “We were really surprised and are very proud at the same time that the prize was awarded to us for our commitment to the bicycle issue and the youth."
