All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

On July 17, 21 German companies of the cycle industry founded “Bundesverband Zukunft Fahrrad” (BVZF) in Berlin

The following sectors are represented in the association: “services, digitisation, specialist retailers, supplier industry and manufacturers. The association BVZF intend to represent the interests of the cycle industry and to push forward a change in transport policies pro bicycle. The board of six of BVZF consists of Ulrich Prediger, founder and managing director of the German leasing service provider Jobrad, Dirk Zedler, founder and managing director of Zedler Group, Mareike Rauchhaus, head of communications at the German bike rental Nextbike, Dorothee Heine, founder of the counselling agency Two Wheels Good, Oliver Hagen, tax consultant and founder of the service provider Lofino as well as Sven Kindervater responsible for marketing and strategies at the mini utility vehicle manufacturer Citkar. The fields job bike leasing, bicycle safety, bike rental, mobility counselling, industrial mobility apps and bike logistics are represented in the board.

“The bicycle and in particular the electric bicycle offer enormous potentials to solve our mobility problems. The cycle industry as a growing sector offers different products and services pushing forward a change in mobility. This significance of both the bicycle and the bicycle industry must be considered much more in the political decisions. This is what we are striving for”, states board chairman Ulrich Prediger. It were of major importance that the bicycle were brought into the focus of taxes, charges and infrastructural politics. Because many fiscal conditions, such as the official car taxation, had an enormous controlling effect in terms of transport and climate policies.

“We want mobility to become multimodal and digital. There are already many services available connecting the local public transport and the bicycle. Digital solutions will make it easier for people to switch over to these eco-friendly means of transport. Politics must use these potentials much more”, declares board member Mareike Rauchhaus.
