The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. Wie neigt sich die Waage?

In der Euphorie um Elektroräder gehen Fahrräder ohne Motor bisweilen unter. Die Industrie sieht dafür dennoch überwiegend eine Zukunft, auch wenn E-Bikes stärker werden.

Welchen Stellenwert hat das klassische Fahrrad ohne Motor heute und in der Zukunft?

Aktuell halte ich das klassische Fahrrad für unterbewertet. Für viele Einsatzzwecke ist es dem Pedelec nach wie vor überlegen. Gerade auch im urbanen Bereich sind Ieichte Fahrräder praktischer, um sie in den Keller zu tragen, sie sind preisgünstiger und daher weniger attraktiv für Diebstahl, und sie tun immer, denn der Akku ist nie leer. Der überhitzte E-Bike-Markt wird sich beruhigen, die Sache wird mittelfristig in die Balance kommen. Schon die Corona-Zeit hat eine verstärkte Nachfrage nach Non-E generiert, auf die die Händler teils gar nicht vorbereitet waren. Ich freue mich auf eine Zeit, in der die jeweiligen Vorzüge wieder fair gegeneinander abgewogen werden.

Fazit:

Fahrräder sind und bleiben für viele Lieferanten und Dienstleister eine wichtige Produktgruppe. Doch glauben auch viele, dass die Anteile der Elektroräder weiter wachsen werden.
