All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

These are the testing methods of EMTB

Taken individually, the handling of many e-MTBs is good. Decisive differences only become obvious in benchmark tests which are therefore the core of our testing system.

The highest score is given to bikes for their riding behaviour in the field explored by at least three experienced test riders on different trails. Light trail bikes get the highest score for the handling on the trail and tourers for an uncomplicated riding behaviour. But we do not want to rely on our feeling alone. Our in-house laboratories are involved in every test. Is it possible to substantiate the impressions we gained in our tests by exactly comparable data relating to geometry and weight? In addition to classic values, we also determine special data such as ground clearance or height of the centre of gravity, which are particularly relevant for e-MTBs. Field tests with sophisticated measurement technology and standardised parameters provide information about range and motor characteristics.

With the step test in the EMTB laboratory we determine the ground clearance of the bikes. Thanks to the compact motors and batteries the light e-MTBs have clear advantages in these points over the classic models.

EMTB test all bikes and most components in their own test lab. Many of our test stands were developed by Zedler-Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit.
