All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Zedler-Institut inaugurate their new company building

On 1800 square metres the new headquarters at Hundshalde in Ludwigsburg offers space for the three areas of business including test laboratories and the seminar area with bicycle museum. It had been built by using a few selected materials only. In addition, the particularly sustainably designed company building has a smart energy management and a photovoltaic installation to produce their own power.

During the celebration of the company anniversary and the opening of the building on June 29th, all official speakers showed their acknowledgement and respect to Dirk Zedler in view of his achievements for the bicycle industry, bicycle safety in general and the development of Zedler Group with meanwhile all in all 24 full-time team members.

Baden-Wuerttemberg’s Minister of Transport Winfried Hermann praised the bicycle industry, as it were built and designed with heart and soul by decision makers and enthusiasts and that it had done a very good job in the past years. The Zedler company was a shining example for that, the new building would manifest the level on which they were working.

Mayor Werner Spec pointed out that it was high time for a radical change in traffic in the region and in Ludwigsburg to make the cities more pleasant. He were happy that Zedler-Institut would accompany this change as lighthouse of the bicycle industry.

In the name of the executive board of the German association Zweirad-Industrie-Verband e.V. Bernhard Lange handed over the anniversary certificate in recognition of 25 years of innovation and commitment for the bicycle. Zedler had built up the business with passion and social competence from the empty desk to the company in its current form which is exemplary far beyond the sector. In view of mobility of the future, Dirk Zedler would continue to play an important role as visionary.

VSF managing director Albert Herresthal reported that Dirk Zedler were always committed to the matter. If something were important to him, he would do it, no matter whether it had a direct economic background or not. One example for that is the parts replacement list for e-bikes kicked off by him in 2013 in the sector and accompanied by him to date. Zedler had reportedly raised the sensitivity for that topic in the sector.
