“The exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of technology is absolutely essential, especially in these challenging times, and therefore a must for all those responsible in the industry”, states Norman Thalheimer, operational head of Zedler-Institut’s test laboratory. “It has become clear that the DVM Bicycle Safety Working Group, which has been held regularly since 2008, has set important priorities for the development of bicycle durability and thus safety and sustainability.”
As in previous years, the event will be chaired by Dr Eric Gross from the University of Technology Hamburg-Harburg.
This year's focus will include the effects of the intensive use of bicycles, the use of new materials, methods of manufacturing that take into account sustainability (e.g. EU Green Deal), the circular economy as well as extended testing methods to ensure mechanical and electrical product safety.
In addition to the presentations by the invited experts, participants can look forward to a varied supporting programme: A guided tour of Zedler-Institut's museum as part of the communicative evening event and of the four accredited test laboratories on the second day of the event will round off the intensive programme.
Further information on the event, the programme and registration are available online on the DVM website.
