All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

In our daily work as we deal with bicycle safety, technology and user manuals we come across lots of safety risks. The most frequent ones are published in articles of the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR – Europas Rennrad-Magazin Nr. 1, BIKE – Das Mountainbike Magazin Europas Nr. 1 and E-Bike – Das Pedelec-Magazin to make this information important for the sector accessible to a wider public.

For many years now the Eurobike Show Daily accompanying the annual international Eurobike Show has given us the opportunity to publish our perspective on major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent lectures about all topics relating to bicycle technology and bicycle market. In addition, we are regularly cited by further special-interest magazines or trade journals as well as more and more by radio and television and in their media reports, which shows us that we are completely right with our information. The section NEWS informs you about the latest news from our specialist fields. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to topics of interest.

Zedler-Institut awarded in economic competition

Finalist in the competition "Grand Prix of Small and Medium Business"

Zedler-Institut, Ludwigsburg, is happy about another award. In the annual business award of the German Oskar-Patzelt-Foundation the company was honoured as one of five finalist in Baden-Wuerttemberg’s "Grand Prix of Small and Medium Business". In the laudatory speech Zedler-Institut was honoured as driving force in the cycle industry’s progress:

"Since the foundation of the company Zedler-Group has been struggling for the improvements in the technology, quality and safety of bicycles and pedelecs."

Another point that impressed the organisers in particular was the environmental and social commitment. As examples for this commitment they emphasized the motivational incentives for the employees to commute by bicycle or the fact that Zedler-Institut established a bicycle workshop which is open to pupils and asylum seekers for free.

Company founder Dirk Zedler is very happy that his company was able to make it through to the final of the economic competition: "The award is a great honour for us as well as a significant recognition of the bicycle. It underlines that Germany’s bicycle industry has gained in importance and no longer the need to fear comparison with other industrial sectors."

Annual prize giving ceremony

The annual business award of the German Oskar-Patzelt-Foundation is regarded as one of the most coveted business awards in Germany. In 2016 4,796 companies were nominated for the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium Business" in Germany, in Baden-Wuerttemberg alone these were 874 small and medium-sized companies. The companies themselves cannot apply for the business award, they must be nominated by the municipalities, associations, institutions or other companies. The competition criteria include the overall development of the company, its efforts to maintain jobs or create new ones, the determination for innovations, modernisations, regional commitment as well as service, customer proximity and marketing competence.
