The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

Good to know - “A test run is absolutely necessary”

For the purchase of a bicycle Dirk Zedler recommends specialist bike shops. And this not only due to the competent advice you get there. “A test run is absolutely necessary, you better do several kilometres.”

The expert doesn’t think much of bargaining. “The purchaser should understand the dealer as partner in service.” With this in mind a servicing can be agreed upon after 300 kilometres with the option of changing the saddle for example, if it turns out to be uncomfortable. A good relationship with the dealer is also worthwile in the case of e-bikes. They need more servicing and regular software updates.

“Keep your fingers off department store bicycles”, recommends Zedler and reports about the experiences of his test institute. They quickly lose their functions. For a good trekking bike you should pay 500 to 600 Euro. The more expensive, the more durable and sophisticated were the design of the bicycles typically. “First class models were available at 1000 to 1500 Euro.”
