All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Zedler-Institut Publishes Fourth Sustainability Report

As a small, medium-sized service provider, the Zedler-Institut is not legally required to report on sustainability. Nevertheless, with its 2024/2025 edition, it has voluntarily published its fourth sustainability report. The company aims to promote transparency and encourage other businesses to view sustainability as a business opportunity.

In its latest sustainability report, the company provides a transparent account of its measures and progress - from its sustainable company building and the expansion of renewable energy to climate-friendly employee mobility. The aim is to demonstrate the contribution that sustainable business practices can make to the environment and employees, as well as to the long-term viability of companies.

“Sustainability means taking responsibility and ensuring our company remains resilient over the long term,” says Managing Director Dirk Zedler. “The past few months in particular have shown how important it is to use resources responsibly and take a forward-looking approach. Our operations are also certified as climate-neutral, making us largely independent of the volatility of oil and gas prices. This makes sound economic sense. Our investments in sustainable solutions are already strengthening our economic stability and securing our future.”

A key element of the company's commitment is its own building, which is rigorously monitored and continuously optimized. Its five test laboratories, the heart of the facility, are major energy consumers.

The entire energy, air and water management system has undergone multiple operational audits by the German Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen e.V., DGNB) and has been awarded its highest rating, “Platinum”.

Sustainable mobility is not just central to the company's business model. The Zedler-Institut also prioritizes resource-efficient transport in everyday working life. In 2025, employees saved approximately 5,725 kilograms of CO₂ by cycling to work. Overall, 68% of employees commuted to work by bicycle, on foot or by public transport throughout the year.

The next goal is to obtain recertification under the DGNB's new international criteria, in conjunction with DIN EN ISO 14001, the globally recognized and widely implemented standard for environmental management systems.
