In addition to the theoretical foundations, participants were given the practical skills needed to carry out an initial damage assessment on bicycles, e-bikes and cargo bikes – alternating between theory and practice. Andreas Grüner (Der Radladen Bamberg NRG GmbH) sums it up as follows: “I’ve attended both courses and can highly recommend them. Even if you don’t intend to work as a loss assessor, they’ll equip you with a wealth of expertise for your day-to-day work. Given today’s demands, that’s worth every penny when it comes to communicating with customers and insurers. My motivation to write loss reports afterwards was higher than ever before. Send your workshop manager on the course, or do it yourself – but do it!”
The positive atmosphere was created not only by the expert commentary delivered in practical and accessible language at the Bicycle Museum, but also by the tour of the testing laboratories, including a live crash test of a metal bicycle frame.
Thomas Büdinger from Passione Ciclismo in Oberursel says “The seminar was better than I expected. The insights were very detailed. There was a great deal of technical expertise. I’m completely satisfied.”
The trainers Sebastian Martin, Manuel Gönnenwein and Dirk Zedler look forward to helping graduates of this and previous Basic courses to deepen and expand the knowledge they have gained. The Advanced course will take place on Tuesday 14 April and Wednesday 15 April 2026, once again in Ludwigsburg.
The focus of the two Advanced days will be on:
- E-bike systems, diagnostic options, common faults and repair options
- Carbon components, assembly, testing and repair options
- An introduction to plausibility checks using real-life examples and
- detailed distinction between existing and pre-existing claims
