Looking ahead with new places for dual studies

As a company in the cycle industry on a broad base, the Zedler-Group welcomes three new students specialising in international business and mechanical engineering.

Following brief pre-study internships at the company, they have spent the past few months completing their first theoretical phase at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Stuttgart.

“We invest in young people and are delighted

that three more dual students have decided to join our company, whom we can now support during their studies and train,” states Annelies Rokitte-Elmering, one of the advisors during the training at the getting to know meeting of the apprentices and the students. All three are students of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart.
Bendix Petmecky completes his practical part in the testing technology team. He is enrolled on the bachelor's degree in “Mechanical Engineering - Specialising in Design and Development”. The enthusiastic gravity mountain biker supports the team of test engineers in the test laboratory, among other things in the day-to-day business and the testing system construction.

Joudy Arbash started the theoretical part of her dual study programme and joined the Zedler team at the beginning of January. She is studying for a bachelor's degree in “Business Administration - International Business’ and supports the testing and testing services team in the commercial field. Among other things, she gets an overview of the processes in the test laboratories, from the receipt of the order to the journey of the test pieces on the testing systems to invoicing.

Lisa Perikic also joined the Zedler-Institut team after completing the theory part in January. She also opted for “Business Administration - International Business”. She starts in the Technical Documentation team, where she gains an insight into the commercial processing of orders and is involved in the practical handling of projects.

Apprentices in the two-wheeler industry also find optimal conditions at Zedler-Group. This can also be gathered from the results of the qualifications. We are delighted, for example, with the performance of our apprentice Arne Macher, who was the only one of his year to complete his apprenticeship as a bicycle mechanic with a commendation. We wish Arne Macher and Fynn Heit all the best for their further qualifications as two-wheeler mechatronics.

Victory with a new best time and 9th place in the Dirty Race

At the end of January, company rider and Zedler team member Julian Grosskopf and our Head of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Philipp Kipker took part in the popular cross-duathlon in Murr (Ludwigsburg district).

With a new course record of 59:16 minutes, Julian not only secured first place with a lead of around 6 minutes, but also successfully defended his title over the 5 km street run, 15 km MTB cross-country and 4.4 km cross run.

With best conditions on the day of competition - 16 degrees Celsius and sunshine - Philipp also improved significantly compared to previous years, finishing 9th overall. Julian showed great spirit and did everything he could to

lead the race at a fast pace right from the start. He pulled clear of his pursuers during the first run. The newly qualified bachelor of science in aerospace engineering extended his lead on the mountain bike course and went into the final discipline, the cross-country run, with a five-minute lead. Here, too, the Ludwigsburg athlete was able to keep up the very high pace until the end and bring home the victory with a new course record.

Zedler team-mate Philipp Kipker also spent a lot of time alone on the course and finished the race convincingly in 1:11:15 in ninth place out of over 100 participants. This meant 2nd place in the age group.

Congratulations to Julian and Philipp for this outstanding performance!

We are already looking forward to the next challenges and wish them every success!
