All about bicycles, electric-assisted bikes, technology and safety in the press

The most common safety risks that we come across in our daily work around bicycle safety, technology and operating instructions are also published by us in articles in the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR (Europe's road bike magazine no. 1), BIKE (Europe's mountain bike magazine no. 1), MYBIKE and EMTB in order to make this information, which is important for the industry, available to a wider public.

For many years now, the Eurobike Show Daily, trade fair magazine of the annual Eurobike Show, has also given us the opportunity to publish our view of major developments in the cycle industry in full-page articles.

We also speak regularly in independent expert presentations about all areas of bicycle technology and the bicycle market. In addition, we are quoted by further special-interest magazines of the industry and the trade as well as increasingly by radio and television in their media reports, which shows us that we are spot on with our advice. The section "News" informs you about the latest news from our specialist areas. The reports and publications of this section are listed chronologically or according to areas of interest.

Zedler-Institut set focus on CE workshop

Zedler-Institut also offer workshops on CE marking in their training course programme. They represent meanwhile an important focus in their programme.

Zedler-Institut’s CE workshops offer background knowledge and tried-and-tested tools for placing EPACs, e-MTBs and e-transportation bikes on the market.

The Product Safety Act has been in force for more than 25 years and yet there are, according to Dirk Zedler, bicycle and e-bike manufacturers and importers who are not yet familiar with it. The training courses on product safety and product liability as well as CE marking at Zedler-Institut are mainly aimed at decision-makers (managing directors, CTOs) and key staff of bicycle manufacturers, e.g. in the product management, purchasing, quality assurance and service.

The focus of the latest CE workshop at Zedler-Institut was on e-transportation and e-cargo bikes. The current recalls in the industry show that there is a particular need for training in this field.

Together with the participants, most of whom are members of the German industry association Zukunft Fahrrad e.V., which had recommended the workshop in the run-up to their spring reception, the following questions, among others, were answered:

  • Which directives, laws and standards are relevant for placing e-cargo bikes as well as EPACs and e-MTBs on the market?
  • How to be on the safe side with CE marking?
  • How to prevent market surveillance authorities from stopping the sale of e-transportation and e-cargo bikes?
  • When does a recall have to be initiated?
In addition to analysing the current situation of the participating companies, there was also discussion about the next steps to be taken.
“It’s obvious that Mr Zedler has an extremely high level of expertise in this subject area. The workshop was very rich in information and specific issues were dealt with. A perfectly organised and, above all, informative seminar with content easily to implement in daily use.” That was the conclusion of one of the participants.

After completing the workshop, the participants receive a valuable certificate stating the period of training.

The next dates are online and can be booked in the web shop of Zedler-Institut.
