Bicycle retailers, workshop managers, and employees of manufacturers and importers from across Germany were trained to produce technically sound and professionally compliant documentation. This enables them to manage claims more effectively, reduce friction with insurers, and ultimately return customers to riding more quickly. In addition to the theoretical foundations, participants were equipped with the essential tools required for an initial expert assessment of damage to bicycles, pedelecs, and cargo bikes – delivered through a combination of theory and hands-on practice.
The positive atmosphere was driven not only by the practical, clearly communicated expert content presented in the engaging setting of a bicycle museum, but also by a guided visit to the testing laboratories, including a live crash test of a metal bicycle frame. As Thomas Büdinger of Passione Ciclismo in Oberursel commented: “The seminar exceeded my expectations. The insights were highly detailed and demonstrated a strong level of technical expertise. I am completely satisfied.”
The trainers – Sebastian Martin, Manuel Gönnenwein, and Dirk Zedler – are highly motivated and look forward to enabling graduates of current and previous Basic training courses to deepen and expand their knowledge. The Advanced training course will take place again in Ludwigsburg on Tuesday, April 14, and Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The focus areas over the two Advanced training days include:
- E-bike systems, diagnostic capabilities, typical fault patterns, and repair options
- Carbon components, including structure, testing methods, and repair solutions
- Introduction to plausibility assessments using real-world case studies
- Detailed differentiation between pre-existing damage and prior wear
