In our daily work as we deal with bicycle safety, technology and user manuals we come across lots of safety risks. The most frequent ones are published in articles of the leading German special-interest magazines TOUR – Europas Rennrad-Magazin Nr. 1, BIKE – Das Mountainbike Magazin Europas Nr. 1 and E-Bike – Das Pedelec-Magazin to make this information important for the sector accessible to a wider public.

Travel tool kit

Apart from "flats" defects on modern road racing bikes are rare. Nevertheless, I would never set off without took kit. It would be a pity if a minor incident would mean the end of the trip.

A 2 to 8-mm-Allen key matching the bike, a Torx-wrench, if necessary, a slot screwdriver and a riveting tool are the tools to be taken with you at least. Maybe a minitool has all you need. Complete all that with a centering key matching the wheel, tyre levers and a pump.
Just as important as tools are spare parts: replacement tube, puncture kit, chain joining links from KMC, SRAM or Wippermann, chain oil, valve extensions, the interior of a lustre terminal, an about 10 cm long section of a worn down tyre without cores, three cable ties and a rag.
