In these economically challenging times, we often hear that some players see potential for savings in the field of user manuals and declarations of conformity. Allegedly, the good news is that operating instructions may now be provided purely in digital form.

It took almost 10 years for the global bicycle standard ISO 4210, published in 2014, to be reissued. However, the high hopes that the maturing process would eliminate flagrant contradictions or shortcomings or that the e-bikes (EPAC) would be integrated were not fulfilled.

What a joy it was when cashiers in the supermarket or pub conversations in Germany were all about road cycling and Jan Ullrich. The attention given to the cargo bike in the past few months was almost at the same level, but this time it was negative.

The training courses on product safety and product liability as well as CE marking at Zedler-Institut are mainly aimed at decision-makers (managing directors, CTOs) and key staff of bicycle manufacturers, e.g. in the product management, purchasing, quality assurance and service.

Zedler-Institut also offer workshops on CE marking in their training course programme. They represent meanwhile an important focus in their programme.
